As a result, here are specific groups of people who simply can\u2019t use these devices safely. These include:\u00a0<\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p><strong>People with cardiovascular conditions<\/strong><\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>If you have heart disease or suffered a heart attack in the past, vibrating plates should be avoided. This also applies if you\u2019ve experienced a stroke, have a pacemaker, or been diagnosed with a blood clotting disorder.\u00a0<\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>The intense vibrations could aggravate such conditions, and place unnecessary stress on your cardiovascular system.\u00a0<\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p><strong>Those with muscle or bone injuries<\/strong><\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>If you\u2019ve recently suffered a sprain or tear, power plates could slow recovery. Increased muscle contractions as a result of intense vibration can make certain injuries worse. Essential stitches could also become dislodged.\u00a0<\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p><strong>Pregnant women<\/strong><\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>Very little research has been done to investigate the effects of whole-body vibrations on pregnancy. To be as safe as possible, we <em>don\u2019t<\/em> recommend using a vibration plate if you\u2019re pregnant. In fact, the vast majority of vibrating plate models specifically warn against it.<\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p><strong>People fitted with plating or pins<\/strong><\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>If you\u2019ve undergone a procedure to have objects like pins or metal plating fitted, vibrating plates aren\u2019t a good idea. Such fittings could become dislodged by whole-body vibration, causing them to alter their position.
